The BCMI team was asked to speak at several association events recently to discuss the impacts and benefits artificial intelligence will have on our industry. We believe this rapidly evolving technology will have an impact on all aspects of ready-mix production — dispatch, fleet management, mix design and sales practices.
Our experts were selected to present and participate in panel discussions regarding this hot topic. We believe AI adoption will be a necessity moving forward. The challenge is to embrace this technology in a smart and logical way that keeps the human in the driver seat.
Tri-State Fall Conference: Harnessing AI for the Future of Engineering
BCMI President Craig Yeack represented BCMI in “Harnessing AI for the Future of Engineering,” a panel discussion at the Tri-State Fall Conference hosted by the Indiana Ready Mixed Concrete Association, Ohio Concrete, Kentucky Concrete Association, and the American Concrete Pavement Association, on November 14. Yeack discussed the future of AI and its impact on concrete producers as well as how BCMI is aggressively getting in front of the technology and fundamentally changing how our industry interacts with the rapidly evolving capabilities of Artificial Intelligence.
PACA’s Annual Meeting: AI in Action
Yeack joined a panel of other industry-leading technology experts entitled, “AI in Action” at the Pennsylvania Aggregates and Concrete Association’s Annual Meeting. Yeack discussed the implications for AI in our industry and showcased BCMI’s ProPilot AI tools that are easy additions to the software producers are already using.
ProPilot AI tools allow the user to gain efficiencies by giving up repetitive tasks. For example, the ProPilot AI Agent saves valuable time by instantly scanning and interpreting thousands of records in a producer’s database, performing calculations and presenting actionable results in nearly real time.
IRMCA Annual Operations and Safety Summit: AI for Daily Ready Mix Tasks
BCMI Vice President of Product Adam Gardner attended the Indiana Ready Mixed Concrete Association’s Annual Operations & Safety Summit and answered producers’ questions about “AI for Daily Ready Mix Tasks.” He joined a panel of other IRMCA members who represent AI from the perspective of mix optimization and concrete delivery.
Gardner highlighted BCMI’s ProPilot AI-assisted dispatch and its impact on expediting the ordering process and customer experience. “In a logistics setting, AI makes important information more readily available to dispatchers,” he said. “It does not replace experienced people to make decisions.
“AI solutions can make processes more efficient by making informed suggestions quickly and with real-time data.”
Ohio Concrete’s Annual Meeting: AI in the Construction Industry
BCMI President Craig Yeack presented his thoughts on artificial intelligence and the potential impacts for the industry in a session, “AI in the Construction Industry,” at Ohio Concrete’s 86th Annual Meeting on December 12 to wrap up 2024.
BCMI provides a portal for concrete producers into AI as a leading technology provider. Our team of industry and technology experts have and will continue to responsibly vet AI tools and incorporate them when and where it makes sense for our customers.
Stay tuned for more discussions on AI and how BCMI is delivering this technology to producers in 2025.
